about

Son Of Caesar is back with a brand new single with a preview of what you can expect from his sophomore album which will be released in early 2018.

”She was a girl selling gramophones” tells the story of a beautiful young girl drawn to London in the swingin’ 60s where the clothes, the music and the drugs are literally everything.

”I wrote the song after I had heard a podcast about Anna Wohlin and her life as the girlfriend of Brian Jones (from the Rolling Stones, ed.). The story of how an ordinary girl gets caught up in the middle of the big city and the eye of the storm fascinated me on so many levels. It inspired me to write a song about all those women who have had their hearts broken by unreliable rock stars,” says Peter Mathiasen, who is the guy behind Son Of Caesar.

lyrics

She was a girl selling gramophones
She let her blond hair hang loose
She liked the boys from the Rolling Stones
And she could dance with whomever she’d choose

She went to London to see her friends
She let her blond hair hang loose
She knew the style and the latest trends
With her black shades and white go-go boots

‘Cause she was always everywhere
With laughter and flower in her hair
And she could turn the dark sky blue
And she would dance a million dances for you

She met a boy with a cocaine nose
He let his blond hair hang loose
He took her hand and he held her close
‘Cause he could dance with whomever he’d choose

He was a boy from the magazines
He let his blond hair hang loose
He spend his time kissing teenage queens
And getting stoned and playing rhythm n blues

And she was always everywhere
With laughter and flower in her hair
And she could turn the dark sky blue
And she would dance a million dances for you

She fell in love just like young girls do
She let her blond hair hang loose - but
He kicked her out and ripped her heart in two
And very soon she was yesterday’s news

She walks the streets with a powdered nose
She let her blond hair hang loose
She’s all alone now and no one knows
How she once was somebody’s muse

‘Cause she was always everywhere
With laughter and flower in her hair
And she could turn the dark sky blue
And she would dance a million dances for you

about

Son Of Caesar Denmark

I was born on a mountain with the emperor looking my way. I was raised in a fountain. In the water I'd swim all day. And I wasn't longing for the riverside. I was waiting for the city lights to come on.
